Frequently Asked Questions
What's a normal body temperature?
Normal body temperature typically ranges from 97.0°F to 99.0°F (36.1°C to 37.2°C). The classic 98.6°F (37°C) is an average — your personal normal may vary. Temp Easy color-codes readings so you can see at a glance whether you're in the normal, elevated, or fever range.
What do the colors mean?
Green means your temperature is in the normal range. Yellow indicates an elevated temperature (low-grade fever). Red means you have a fever. These ranges follow standard medical guidelines and adjust based on measurement method.
Can I switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius?
Yes! You can toggle between °F and °C in the app settings. All your existing readings will automatically display in the selected unit.
Why does measurement method matter?
Different measurement methods (oral, forehead, ear, armpit) can give slightly different readings. For example, armpit readings tend to be about 1°F lower than oral. Recording the method helps you compare readings accurately over time.
Does Temp Easy sync with Apple Health?
Yes — if you grant HealthKit permission, Temp Easy writes body temperature readings to Apple Health. This lets you track temperature alongside your other health data. The app only writes data; it does not read from HealthKit.
Can I edit or delete a reading?
Yes! Tap any entry in your history to edit the temperature, method, or time. You can also swipe to delete any reading you no longer need.
Is my data backed up?
Temperature data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData. If you back up your iPhone via iCloud or your computer, your Temp Easy data is included in that backup. The app itself does not perform any cloud sync.
Is Temp Easy a medical device?
No. Temp Easy is a logging tool for recording temperature readings you take with your own thermometer. It is not a medical device and should not be used as a substitute for professional medical advice.
