Voice Dictation Talk Easy

Privacy Policy

Talk Easy - Voice Dictation · Effective October 21, 2026

The Short Version

Talk Easy does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. What you say is transcribed and cleaned up on your iPhone and never leaves it.

On-Device Transcription

Talk Easy uses Apple's on-device speech recognition (SpeechAnalyzer) to turn your voice into text. Your audio is processed on your iPhone and is never recorded to a file, stored, or sent to any server, including Apple's.

The first time you dictate in a language, iOS may download Apple's speech model for that language. iOS handles that download, and it contains nothing you've said. After that, dictation works offline.

On-Device Cleanup

Cleanup and formatting use Apple Intelligence through Apple's on-device Foundation Models framework. Talk Easy uses only the model on your iPhone; it does not use Private Cloud Compute or any other server-based model.

Microphone and Speech Recognition

Talk Easy asks for microphone and speech recognition access the first time you tap the microphone. It listens only after you tap the microphone, and stops when you pause or tap stop. It never listens in the background.

Data Storage

Your dictation history, your modes, the words Talk Easy learns from your corrections, and your settings are stored on your iPhone using SwiftData, in a container shared only with Talk Easy's own widget and share extension. You can delete any dictation in History, and in Settings you can turn off history, delete all of it, or forget learned words. There are no user accounts and no sign-up.

Clipboard and Sharing

Talk Easy writes to the clipboard only when you tap Copy, and it never reads the clipboard. Text you share to Talk Easy from another app is reshaped on your iPhone and isn't saved to your history.

Analytics & Tracking

Talk Easy contains no analytics frameworks, no ad SDKs, no tracking pixels, and no telemetry of any kind. We do not use any third-party services that collect data.

Network Usage

Talk Easy makes no network requests of its own. The only network activity associated with the app is the speech model download that iOS performs, described above, and the App Store for updates.

Children's Privacy

Talk Easy does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page with the new effective date. Since Talk Easy collects no data, meaningful changes are unlikely.
