The Short Version
Feathers does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Your games, stats and settings stay on your iPhone.
Games and Stats
A game in progress, your finished games, your history (games won, bids made, High and Low calls, moons) and your settings, including the name and plumage you pick, are stored locally on your device. There are no user accounts and no sign-up. Deleting the app deletes them.
Playing with Friends Nearby
When you host or join a table, Feathers uses Apple's Multipeer Connectivity to connect directly to phones in the same room, over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. The connection is encrypted, and it only runs while you are hosting or joining. The phones share only what the game needs: the display name, plumage and bird outfit each player picked, and the moves of the game. Your deck style is not shared. Each phone receives only its own hand. Nothing goes through a server, and nothing is kept after the game.
Local Network
iOS asks for permission to use the local network the first time you host or join. Feathers uses it only to find and talk to the other phones at your table. If you only play against the AI birds, the app never needs it.
In-App Purchases
Feathers is free to play. Optional one-time purchases add bird skins, deck styles, felts, celebrations, house rules, table reactions, stats and more, and you can leave a tip. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details or your Apple Account. Apple tells the app what you've unlocked, and Restore Purchases asks Apple for it again. Skins earned by playing are recorded on your device.
No Ads
Feathers shows no ads and contains no advertising SDKs.
Analytics & Tracking
Feathers contains no analytics frameworks, no tracking pixels, and no telemetry of any kind. We do not use any third-party services that collect data.
Network Usage
Feathers makes no internet requests of its own. The only network activity is the nearby connection described above, while you host or join, and Apple's App Store, for downloads, updates and purchases.
Children's Privacy
Feathers is a card game for families and friends. It does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page with the new effective date. Since Feathers collects no data, meaningful changes are unlikely.
